Re-imagining our collective futures
“Nyansapo” is a conference organised by the Faculty of Art, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to advance collaborative and emancipatory approaches in Art and Design. This conference aims at creating an interdisciplinary space that brings together artists, designers, academia, students and the community to provide solutions for our collective futures. The daunting challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic have made it expedient for us to share and cross-pollinate theoretical and practical knowledge on recent studio and exhibition practices, innovations, pedagogical trends and concerns in Art and Design that re-examine and re-create for resilience.
Call for Contributions
We invite designers, artists, researchers and students to help make the conference a reality through submitting research abstracts, papers and poster/ e-posters. Contributions should be original and unpublished results from conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental, or theoretical works in all areas of Creative Arts and Design.

Submission
The manuscripts must be written in English and must follow the APA (7th Edition) style. Authors are invited to submit full papers (NOT MORE THAN 6000 WORDS including ABSTRACT (150 words) all text parts) responding to one of the topics described above. Previously published articles or proceedings will not be accepted.
All submissions will be double-blind peer-reviewed. Accepted conference proceedings will be published in “The Image Journal” and AJOL.

Instructions to Authors
General: The first page of the manuscript must have authors’ names, affiliations, email addresses and abstract. The corresponding authors’ names must bear an asterisk sign. The manuscript must have the following:
- Manuscript title
- Authors’ names and affiliations
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Literature Review
- Research methodology / Materials and methods
- Results
- Discussion of Results
- Recommendation (s) and Conclusion
- References
Font type and Spacing: Times New Roman and 1.5 line spacing.
Section headers: Organization of the paper should be logical and consistent. All headers should be left-aligned and bolded. “A”-level headers in 14-point font size, B-level headers in 12-point font size, and 12-point font for body text.
Tables and Figures: All tables and figures should be embedded in the manuscript. Figures and artwork must be high and should be 300dpi. Tables should be typed flush with the left-hand margin and have proper labeling of axes, column headings, and other notations; put labels on the graphical element. Don’t use acronyms in tables and figures, but spell out the name of each
References: The referencing style is APA (7th Edition). The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication; references should integrate recent work in the area.
Timelines
- May 2022: Call for papers.
- May 1 - July 31, 2022: Full papers submission deadline (no more than 6000 words including tables, references, figure captions, and endnotes). Please strictly follow the author guidelines.
- August 30, 2022: Notification of acceptance/rejection/revisions to authors.
- September 30, 2022: Final manuscript submission deadline.
- November 16 - 18, 2022: Conference
- December 30, 2022: Publication of conference proceedings.
